Last year I started participating in a blogging series called 30 Days to Being a Better Blogger. I never reached the end so I’m going to get back on that journey, beginning with some shoutouts to blogs that helped me back when I started.
First is Pink Tentacle, a blog that is consistently one of the top referrers to my site. It is a blog dedicated to Japanese culture, translating interesting news stories from Japanese into English. And it would not be Japan without a bevy of interesting links on cephalopods, robots and odd art. Thanks Pink Tentacle.
Another blog that sent a lot of link love my way was squid.us. My site is hosted (naturally enough) with a provider called LaughingSquid.net, run by Scott Beale. While much of their focus of his LaughingSquid.com is on the art and culture of San Francisco, Scott inevitably gets a plethora of squidtastic suggestions sent to him. For three years he collected a lot of them on another site called squid.us. He also added the Cephalopodcast to his sidebar and it made a difference in my visitors. Sadly, squid.us has stopped updating, with Scott noting that there is now much more coverage of things tentacular then there was when he started. Thanks Scott.
