Google is holding an art contest for K-12 students to design a logo for the search engine’s homepage. The theme is “What I Wish for the World.” They will offer prizes to state, regional and national winners. The grand prize is a $15,000 college scholarship. “In Darwin’s Footsteps”
This year is the 200th anniversary of Charles Darwin’s birth and the 150th anniversary of his famous book, On the Origin of Species. The Alliance for Science is holding a high school essay contest to coincide with the celebrations and the deadline is next week, February 12, 2009. The grand prize is $300 to the first place winner.
