A couple of Web-based games inspired by the deep sea. First is one called Blush.

It’s more about tracing graceful but deadly arcs through the water, and quickboosts to waypoints to deposit eggs collected through your kills, which grow your tentacles and further increase your speed…it’s an arcade-style race against the clock for high scores and achievements

flOw

There is a somewhat similar game made by another company called flOw.

The game involves the player guiding a tiny, aquatic worm-like microorganism through various depths of the ocean to consume other organisms and to evolve their organism as the player advances.

I’ve played both of them. Simple, but fantastic. It feels amazing to control an unusually aggressive, purple ctenophore while trying to maneuver apparently numb tentacles at the same time. Great visuals as well….even though the second game really reminded me of Spore’s tide pool phase (not that it’s a bad thing, though).

I had the same impression, but I believe flOw came first, so I suppose Spore’s primordial ooze was the imitation.
