Tentacular news everyone. I am joining the volunteer staff at The Octopus News Magazine Online (TONMO.com). In addition to helping with the Education forum, I will also work on reviving the dormant Octopodcast. So expect even more podcasts focused on our favorite aquatic mollusks.
So what’s the difference between the Octopodcast show and the Cephalopodcast show? The former was started by Tony Morelli and covers all things TONMO: anything and everything pertaining to octopuses, squids and cephalopods including research and biology, pet care, fossils, tattoos, images, video clips, art and culture, activities for children, site reviews, books, movies, poetry and writing, diving, marine conservation, and more.
The Cephalopodcast is a show started by me and its relationship to actual cephalopods is more notional than practical. I thought it clever when I started, but soon realized few people know what a cephalopod is, much less a podcast. I always intended the Cephalopodcast show to be broadly about all things oceanic and educational and scientific (formulated as [science edu + ocean info / tech]). That is to say, about the things that get my nerd up. So the Cephalopodcast show will continue and will occasionally cover aquatic mollusks. But if you are interested in knowing about all things cephalopodal all the time, stay tuned to the Octopodcast show (possible formulation being [(squid+nautilus+octopus)^science/culture]).
My thanks go out to Tony and the TONMO community for giving me this opportunity. I look forward to working with such a wonderful group of suckers.
